Estoy muy contento de poder hacer la frase del día.

I am very happy to be able to do the phrase of the day.

I greatly appreciate this. Last January I picked up a Spanish text at CSU. I worked diligently about halfway through it during the winter but put is away for summer months. Come fall I hope to find I've retained some of it. I'm not in college (LSU '85) but am doing this for my own benefit.

Thank you,

I think it's great that you're working to pick up Spanish. Dana has definitely worked hard to provide a great resource for all of us.

There are some great (and free!) resources to complement this one out there. One of my other favorite audio sources are the Spanish Sense podcasts, which are also available via iTunes without signing up. The other is the great vocabulary builder, Rimbombante, though it's at a pretty advanced level. I've knocked the socks off my friends with some of the words I've learned there ;).

To do a shameless plug, I also started writing a blog of my tips for learning spanish.

Take care!

Since writing that post I went back to the text. After a couple hours dealing with preterite forms I realized I'm in over my head. So I drove over to the community college and signed up for Spanish 101. Unfortunately the course uses a different text. The best news is because some of my clients are from mexico, the course, travel and new text are deductable. :-)
